Putting Man in the Sky With Patents
Orville and wilbur wright made the first powered flight on December 17, 19 o three. The right brothers got to work building an entire industry around the concept of putting man in the sky. They used a patent for their unique method of steering an aircraft called lateral control. But glen curtis found a different way to turn his aircraft by using ailerons. This led to a year's long patent war between two parties to fight the siblings. As it turned out, airplanes were becoming increasingly necessary during World War I. And those patents were making production prohibitively pricy. To combat corporate greed, government united states created a patent pool which required all aeronautic companies
