Why Did Undergrad Economics Students Not Learn Properly?

As an economic student and that went on to be a trader, for the longest time I felt it was like useless. Part of it is also because a lot of academics haven't really had themselves the experience right in the real economy. And there's not a strong incentive for professors who are most of these research universities,. top universities so stressed out about getting tenure to actually put in a ton of effort to reinvent econ curriculum.
