The President of the Mouth, I've Got a Toe in My Mouth
The painting done in 1776 by the same artist shows a scar on the left cheek from a fistula caused by an abscess tooth. Washington's next set of dentures were made in 1791 and in the third in 1795, for which he paid $60. Dental discomfort is says to have caused him to forgo, giving his second inaugural address.
