The Effects of Multidisciplinary Training on Open Frustrations
Systemic antibiotics and tetanus prophylaxis should be administered immediately upon arrival. The lower extremities should be splinted while the remaining trauma workup takes place. Some evidence suggest that high-pressure pulsatile lavage damages bone structures and disrupts soft tissue. A multidisciplinary training program has been associated with decreased timing to IV antibiotic administration.
