Myths and Legends

Count Drac and Vlad the Impaler

The original name of the novel was the dead un dead. Stoker's notes indicated that he read stories of the woman known as the blood countess but we really don't know how much of anin she had on his work. Elizabeth botery is apparently the most prolific female murderer of all time, with some sourte putting her body count at 650. She probably would have gotten away with it too, if she hadn't started murdering the wrong people. If you're an aspiring novelist, be careful about which names you choose for your characters. You may just be turning a little known mediaeval ruler into a mythological monsterknown all around the world.
