Most of those books were thrown on the rubbish heap as they'd been torn up. It's an amazing opportunity, because that is the only place in the ancient world where a library was destroyed in the conditions that may that should have insured its preservation. These should be still in their pigeon holes, in their carrying boxes, arranged with their labels, with statues of the author who wrote them on top. They used to put a little statue of of the bust of the author on top of his books to show you what the call number was, effectively. And am so people have one of tos inequa.
