What's the Point of War in Politics?
Michael Besh: If an American president has to disqualify dealing with any other power because they have a bad leader, there's not going to be too many diplomatic relations between this great superpower and others. JFK defused the Berlin wall crisis and also the Cuban Missile Crisis by having his brother Bobby beat with a lower level diplomat who was actually a Soviet intelligence officer in Washington. That's what we're dealing with war in politics that we can't take very seriously," he says.
