The Business Model of Frederick Douglass
I wanted to build wealth for myself so that I did not have to continue to go begging to a philanthropist to help Operation Hope with its growth. Single family residential rentals was a business I thought I could be in that had no conflict with my philanthropy. Frederick Douglass ran the Freedman's Bank for Abraham Lincoln in 1865. That was charted to teach free slaves about money. In many ways, I am literally replicating his business model. It wasn't intentional. This is just tripped on to this same narrative.
