Liberty University president jerry fawwell junior endorsed Donald trump. He was the first major evangelical figure to do so. The endorsement gave trump a huge lift, which helped him win the republican nomination and ultimately the presidency. Falwell told tyler that his endorsement could give the appearance of the school endorsing a president, and that could risk their non profit status. Later he was introduced at the two thousand 16 r and c as president of liberty university. It is my distinct honour and privilege to welcome back the liberty university a man whom i introduced in 20 12 are one of the greatest visionaries of our time.
