The History of Hadrian's Wall
Hadrian's Wall stretches almost from coast to coast, a distance of 73 modern miles. Communities sprung up along its length and countless lives were played out in the forts and villages that served it. Though little remains today of the original wall, the site continues to be a source of incredible fines for archaeologists and historians. Excavations of sites connected to the wall inform much of what we know about life in Roman Britain.
