In nearly 50% of patients that take statins have some kind of low grade adverse effects neuromuscular effects, cramping, pain. The reason it happens is that over the course of time when people are exposed to foreign molecules they start developing antibodies to those molecules because they are foreigners. These constructs that we are going to treat people with blockbuster drugs everyone gets one class at some particular dose schedule is just ludicrous and totally in opposition of what we learned over the last 25 years about pharmacogenetics and uniqueness of individuals.
