The Importance of Synergy in the Seven Years War

I don't think Washington's role enhanced his career because he was forced to surrender to the French, there was a humiliation on the other hand what incidentally you could argue was that all of the political elite in the 13 colonies realized at that stage the need to align to Britain. The idea of American independence is very, very, very remote at this period and it's entirely appropriate that George Washington is part of an imperial project. British regulars are actually finally defeated by British regulars with the assistance of American provincial troops so that kind of symbiosis that synergy is the key lesson that is taken out of the war.
