Clifford: Maybe it's true in the lab, but it doesn't seem to be true in basics in clinical science. I've never found anything in vivo that says this is a real effect. So I don't know when I teach it, I chalk it up in the same category as the intraocular pressure arguments that have been debunked. And I think Rick Dutton from shock trauma lectures on it too.
