The History of Virtual Reality in Japan
In Japanese there's a few different ways it's been translated. There's the castle which is more literally kind of imaginary space. Someone like Susan Metachi was very against that translation. It goes pretty far back and it comes through in the history of how virtual memory and computer science context was translated. In some ways it taps more directly into the literary and fantasy fiction history we were talking about before.
