The hedge fund industry at the end of the second quarter was a four point three trillion dollars, up from 600 billions at the start of the century. Most investors are invested in hedge funds to protect on the down side and add diversification. The first six months of this year, hedge funds were up ten %, which was the best start of a year since 19 99.
