The German invasion of Greece in 1941 had huge implications for the wider war. The Greek disaster was set in chain by Winston Churchill in part. It not only attracted the attentions of Germany but the numbers that were sent were insufficient really to deal with the German onslaught. Once again the British and the Dominion forces were faced with superior air power.
