Moral Luck Is a Puzzle
Fiery Kushman is a psychology professor at Harvard who studies moral luck. He says the very idea of judging someone for their luck violates a deep moral intuition. Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas and Immanuel Kant all claim that intention plays a key role in morality. People generally blame others less when they cause harm accidentally than when it's intentional.
