At the time, people nade to remember that the second clan had only just on. It was defuncked by the 19 thirties, but it still existed. And so african americans were campaigning very actively to say that if you make this movie romanticizing the clan, it is going to be directly dangerous for black Americans. The problem with am er a is that they still have to go on a raid, because the plot demands it. Is how one of the key characters dies. So we are supposed to be sympathetic with people who are going to wear a luncheon suit and kill each other? We don't call them lynchers - they're still called clansmen
