The Importance of Liveable Cities
Some cities have taken slum-free very literally to remove slums in order to create the smart city. The start of these schemes has raised alarm bells for those concerned with freedom of choice, democracy and equal access. Elissa Walker is the urbanism editor at Curbs magazine in Los Angeles but unless it's liveable, equitable and accessible, it's still dumb. She prefers the term Liveable City rather than smart,. A Liveable City may use tech, but that's not always the case.
