Chamberlain wanted to ensure that another generation didn't go through what norman and his other cousin had gone through. Appeasement meant redressing genuine grievances so as to a create a fairer world. The first world war settlements at versailles had really been designed to make sure germany and austria, hungary were far too weak ever to threaten the west again. So chunks of german speaking areas were taken away from germany,. which was the grievance, as hitler saw it, which led to the meetings culminating in munich meeting. But i think our reaction should be more nuence than the traditional man of munich ar legend.
