How Did the Structure of the Documentary Change When Fines Come On?
Rafe: "We went through the 14 page transcript and did what they did back then in the mid 80s. We said, oh, this is good. This is good. We can build something out of this" Once we knew that Rafe might do it, I used stills of Rafe to indicate where he might we might actually see him. And then ultimately Rafe himself came in and then his actual performance replaced those sections of the film. But was there a plan before you knew you had him about, hey, what are we going to do with this? No, just we knew that we have to find somebody to read this."
