What's the Difference Between a True Crime and a Murder?
Beech's tragedy is the only one of these murder plays, or true crime plays, that survives from the rose theatre's repertoire. The play was written in 15 99 and performed in the early 16 hundred. There are no less than three true crime plays being rather hurriedly tacked together at the roses. Two of those are lost in terms of actual text, although we have an account by a member of the audience of one of them. And there's an interesting fact about another one, which is page of plymouth, which is that ben jonson was one of the authors but that, unfortunately, is completely lost.
