I was amazed at how many CTA's professional traders did not plan for disasters. I would tell everybody ahead of time, so everybody in the company knew what to expect. It required a whole lot of attention because when you're operating on backup equipment, it's a little bit more clunky than it would be with your mainstream stuff. And invariably, what you get out of those exercises is a good list of things that you missed or that have changed since last time you did a disaster backup.
