Mao Zedong's Zunyi Conference
Mao Zedong came up with the only feasible short-term plan. After Quyang, of course, they arrived on the outskirts of Zunyi New Year's Day, 1935. The Nationalist Garrison there gave up without much of a fight. Joe Enlai called this whole Zunyi Conference of the Extended Politburo. He was the one who had the guts to say, nobody but mine.
