What Is Radio Spectrum?

Radio spectrum is used to carry wireless data. The most intensive uses are a wireless data that's used, you know, by yoursel phones. And another relatively intensive use is television broadcast. Government wanted to move some of this capacity,. of the radio spectrum that had been used for TV broadcast over a mobile broadband. This was the resource elocation prop and it's complicated for several reasons. It depended on what prices the television stations would charge to give up their own license rights. We didn't just say were selling a certain quantity of spectrum. We had to figure that out in the auction.
