The Role of Ceremony in the Tudor Dynasty
Ceremony of coronation grew up during the medieval and Tudor period. Henry VIII for example with his wife Catherine of Aragon, this was the really kind of the big establishment of the Tudor dynasty. The procession before her coronation was a double act between the court and the city. It was a way of them kind of turning London into a kind of theatre.
