Challenging Enlightenment Values in Academia

This chapter critiques the rejection of enlightenment values in academic settings, particularly focusing on a contentious faculty meeting at Evergreen. It discusses the limitations of critical theory in gender and queer studies and tackles the implications of accusations of racism within scientific fields. Through personal anecdotes and observations, the chapter highlights the tensions between ideology and academic integrity, as well as the pressures on students to conform to prevailing narratives.
