The New Real and the Two Forms of Mimesis
The book describes two modes of mimesis that have existed as definitions of the term since at least it's ancient Greek origins and still carry out significant weight in the humanities. On one hand there's this what I'm called mimesis one, but that's not because it comes before but it's because it's closer to me as a scholar of literature. But on the other hand, there's this kind of other mimesis which is more often discussed in like anthropology or ethnomusicology where you're talking about mimicry. And we can best see this I argue in moments of hyper mediation where medium kind of mediates itself so those sorts of moments really kind of help
