The Shabbat in Somalia
Dr Nissamajid is a Somalia expert at the London School of Economics. There have been four failed rainy seasons, and this one is forecast to fail as well. Farmers whose farmlands are parched by drought are also experiencing the terror of a Shabbat. One farmer told us that wherever the Shabbat goes, drought follows. It's a curse that they feel goes hand in hand.
