Video Games Perpetuate the Idea of Women

Video games do a worse job of representing women than the real world does, says Stephanie. Women are more likely to apologize and less likely to swear in video games compared with their male counterparts. This is despite there being inconclusive studies about whether or not women apologize more in real life. "I suspect that some of that kind of folk belief is then trickling through to characters we write," she adds.
