The Perception of Benefit of Open Source Software

Cloud applications are going to have this rising cost and more importantly, perception of cost. The perceived benefit is at best going to stay flat, maybe go up a little bit. But on the other side of the equation when it comes to self-hosted open source software, the perceived cost is going to go down and down and down. We call it convenience parity. I don't think we can ever reach it. It's an asymptotic approach because that third party model is inherently built on the concept of we'll do it for you.
