The Impact of the ECB Rates on Irish Mortgage Rates
When ECB rate was being cut, Irish banks started increasing the mortgage rates to a situation where Irish mortgage rates became the highest in the Eurozone. And there wasn't a peep out of the central bank about that. They didn't say, oh, look, this is not a good idea to push it up mortgage rates when the economic policy of the ECB is to bring down interest rates. Sinn Fein wants to give them help, but there's no help at all for people who took out a mortgage a year ago on a much lower salary.
