The History of Cloud-Seeding
The US Air Force ran a program called Operation Popeye in Vietnam. They used their aircraft to spray silver and lead iodide over the country. The project stayed top secret until 1971, when it was made public. It is estimated to have increased rainfall in Vietnam by 30 percent during 1967 and 1968.
