I find it especially with undergrad graphic design students who kind of a blanket statement but often just want to make stuff that looks cool. It's really terrible that design school makes them not realize how context specific coolness is and you know the flip side of that is Cranbrook school experimentalism which these days is just algorithmic type. I think we are still stuck in a kind of late modernist paradigm of design aesthetics, he says. "It's really sad and pathetic to see that people are still obsessed with white space"
