War was viewed more obviously as a proximate cause for these changes than the pendemic. The media is incredibly important to the way that the roaring twenties emerged. And the auto industry, these technological and industrial changes would have helped create that feeling of the roaring twenties regardless of whether first world war happened or not. It's an era of tension between labor and capital, of growing inequality and growing anger about that economic inequality. But it's also an error in which people are enjoying new kinds of entertainment.
