A lot of it's autobiographical. He had a lot of racy episodes in his life, pretending to drugs and Hollywood,. But it's hardly all that silly. A lot of it is is cuts right to the core. It's a ton of stories. And you can see the whole the entire sort of arc of his writings from the 50s on up to the 90s.
