In the book Adorno and Foucault are able to open up these lines of fracture yeah okay um so I borrow the tripartite type distinction between vindicatory subversive and problematizing genealogy from my friend Colin Copeman who in turn is building on the work of Bernard Williams. So for example if we think about enlightenment ideals have come down to us in such a way that they are also thoroughly bound up with relations of inner and outer nature as Adorno or early Adorno might have said.
