There are extraordinary beneficial potential here, isn't there in all kinds of ways? Absolutely. That's one of the main reasons why I've been working on AI for many decades and also because I wanted to understand intelligence. So what the letter proposed was not to stop AI research. It proposed slowing down for these very large systems that are even larger than the largest ones that exist right now. And we want to continue that. In fact, we want to accelerate those applications. For the most part, there is no danger from these applications. We mostly can see benefits in applying AI to education or to saving lives"
