The Dispersal of a Wolf
A wolf that's going off looking for a mate in its own territory is handicapped because it can't vocalize really. If it starts howling or responding to howling of other wolves, it's putting itself at great risk. And I don't think there's ever been a single person ever that has seen two single dispersing wolves come together and pair up. It's just incredible to think about the journey an animal would make alone on foot like that.
