The South Sea Company - Isaac Newton
Newton bought into the South Sea company shortly after its founding in 1711. He increased it slightly during the teens and as the bubble inflated between January and April, he watched go up. Newton couldn't stand the thought of all those foregone prophets and later told his niece that he lost 20,000 pounds.
