i'd use onen as chinamen. The best time, i was told later, to try and escape is when you're near your own lines. You needed a watch navigation if you escaped. But es another story the life in the camps. Because lyke brian says, immediately after we were taken, they started pushing us north, getting us away from the front line. And that's what was happening. Fortunately, he died very quickly. He died a painless death. It was like a shooting gallery. They allowed us to go so far. And then, like i say, i'd shot this chinalman went down, and we got round him and carried on.
