The Place of Prayer in the Catholic World?

I maintain optimism by writing morning pages. I find that the daily practice of pages tutors me in optimism. When i use the fourth tool of guidance and say, can i have guidance about x, i hear back something that's benign,. gentle, forward looking, optimistic. And i find myself saying, oh, maybe the world isn't such a rotten place after all.
