Can a Union Strike Be Avoided?
There are growing headwinds facing the 11th hour rail deal that was struck last month. A second union now, the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen rejected the agreement on Wednesday. Any strike would halt trains and cost an estimated 2 billion in trade per day as 40 percent of U.S. long haul freight travels by rail. So can a strike be avoided?
