The Objective of Fixing the Industry

The software industry is fundamentally broken at every conceivable aspect of cost, schedule, staffing, requirement, risk. And the nature of progress is that progress is always a step function. We don't improve our lot incrementally. One day we're here and then the next day we're at a completely different level of existence because we did something differently. The book is kind of like the penicillin. It does take a change if to start washing hands and do things correctly. But it's a fundamental transformation of the career of those involved as long as they decide to write their career and write the industry.
