The Importance of Growth in an Economic System
Without more social justice globally, I don't think we're going to make a great deal of progress here. We certainly need to retain a growth economy that privileges certain areas of production in order to improve the condition of many living in the growth parts of the globe. But if we think of growth only as needed forms of productive exposure in a transition period, within an economic order that's committed to moving away from the forms of production and the priority given to certain good services in our own touch, then it won't work. So I think we need to allow for an idea of growth that is needed up to a point.
