The earliest known domestication of cultivated plants was in central america. It began with bottle gourds, and then soon after, squash,. Both of these were domesticated somewhere around eight thousand b c. And then a while later, maize, probably round seven thousand bc. And then ovacatos and cotton not long after that. So when we look at our plant diet to day, really most of the plant foods we eat now were originally domesticated in theAmericas.
