The Justice Department's Argument That Julian Assange Was Not Journalism
The Justice Department would argue that whatever Julian Assange was engaged in was not journalism although a lot of journalists kind of disagree with that. The espionage act charged against Assange essentially charges him for you know cultivating a source and then publishing the information which press freedom advocates say they're afraid just doesn't create enough of a distinction between Wikileaks and Washington Post. If we had a second Trump administration it would not shock me given his vitriol against the press.
