The Rise and Fall of the KGB

The KGB focus very much on the United States as well they call them the main adversary obviously it was the main enemy. The amount of money and officers that the KGB invested in this operation during the Cold War was much bigger than even I thought. In the UK in the late 1960s they were completely overrun. MI5 in London were completely struggling because there were so many undercover KGB officers running around London putting people under surveillance recruiting spreading disinformation. It took them a long time to combat this but the US had more resources and I think they sort of hit back and they recruited defectors and they were able to some extent counter it.
