IoT is an industry so far removed from that of cyber and IT security, isn't it? Exactly. Out of 12 smart locks, 11 were broadcasting the code in plain text. The one that did actually encrypt its signal was so flimsily built, you could open it with a screwdriver. It's not physical security, seriously, but also data security. I've written an awful lot of stories about these IoT devices that security, it's kind of Windows 98 levels of security. You know, it just wasn't built with that in mind.
