What Is the Legacy of Mary Lumpkin?
The school that mary lumpkin founded is still in existence to daynd as are dozens of other historically black colleges and universities. She has a huge legacy with her own family, in that she got them to freedom more than five years before all americans were freed from slavery. And i think she shows real endurance and perseverance areal ength as a woman,. I wish, instead of having to show that endurance and resilience, that she could have been protected. What's being done now to tell the story of lumpkin's jail and of richmond's wide connections to slavery?
